Running on Empty

A Workshop for Tired Parents
Saturday, 21.11.2026, at Brehm, Munich

Most parenting advice tells you what to do differently. This morning is about understanding why it's this hard – and why trying harder isn't working.

If you're the one who holds everything together for everyone else and you've started to wonder why you feel so exhausted – this morning is for you.

Over coffee and pastries, we'll explore the invisible load parents carry and what becomes possible when you start to understand yourself a little better.

When parenting starts to feel exhausting

November's theme at Brehm is burnout. And parenting is one of those areas where running on empty can so easily become normal.

During this three-hour morning, we'll slow down, grab a coffee and look at what's driving the exhaustion, and why it shows up so visibly in parenting and family life.

Through teaching, guided reflection, and real conversation with other parents, we'll explore what's actually underneath the stress, the frustration, the guilt, and the constant feeling of not quite getting it right.

What we’ll explore

We'll look at:

  • Where the stress comes from, and why so much of it isn't actually about your children

  • What gets triggered in you when family life feels hardest, and what that's pointing to

  • How the patterns you developed long before you became a parent might be quietly running the show – not just with your kids, but in all your close relationships

  • What it would mean to respond from a place of awareness rather than automatic reaction

This is the Conscious Parenting philosophy: when a parent starts to understand themselves more deeply, something shifts at home. There's more space for patience, for presence, for genuine connection. Not just with your kids, but with your partner and yourself too. The chaos of family life doesn't disappear – but you move through it differently. With more ease and space for your needs and authentic voice.

This isn't about becoming a perfect parent. In fact, you have full permission to be a messy one! But at the end of the day, it's about finding your way back to yourself – and discovering that calm and connection become more possible from there.

Come exactly as you are

There's no pressure to share anything you're not ready to share, and no previous knowledge of Conscious Parenting is needed. Coffee and pastries are on me. Come exactly as you are.

About Your Guide

Michelle Clare is a certified trauma-informed coach based in Munich, trained at Dr Shefali Tsabary's Conscious Parenting Institute and in Compassionate Inquiry with Dr Gabor Maté. Her work draws on nervous system awareness and an understanding of how our early experiences and inherited family patterns shape the way we parent, relate, and show up for ourselves.

She works with parents who are tired of trying harder and ready to understand why it's this hard in the first place.
